Nadyne Parr

Nadyne Parr is a high school teacher currently working in the public school system. She received her secondary teacher’s certification in speech, theatre, and psychology and has worked for ten years (on purpose) as a substitute teacher.

She works with students from kindergarten to twelfth grade in a culturally diverse environment where the total enrollment collectively speaks over 49 languages and is comprised of children from 29 countries around the world.

Her vast exposure to thousands of students from a diverse ethnic mix, gives her a unique perspective on peace and unity across the cultures. She relates to youth with a love and enthusiasm that empowers them to share their voice in a society that often silences them.

In so doing, she not only bridges gaps across racial differences but helps to blur the lines that have separated adults and teens for generations – creating a space for understanding and peace.

Ms. Parr is also the Executive Producer and co-anchor of an entertainment-talk internet based show, SOFA REAL. In partnership with GRNow.com, SOFA REAL provides the video talent on the city of Grand Rapids’ most popular entertainment website – providing helpful hints and fun facts about what’s happening in town.

With her engaging personality, on-camera skill, and extended resume in acting, from the stage to television and films, Nadyne’s combined talent as a public educator and a trained actress make her a powerhouse communicator for the cause of building children into peacemakers who can effectively create lasting change in the world.

Nadyne lives with her husband and their daughter in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
